I DIDN’T GET IT UNTIL I WENT TO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD

Psalm 73 is one of my favorite Psalms because the Psalmist Asaph speaks so eloquently of what I have thought at times as I have suffered and had tribulation in this life as a Christian and had to watch the wicked prosper before my very eyes. On one particular job, I was smart and worked hard.  I had a good reputation and was well-liked but guess what? The promotion went to the “smile-in-your-face-stab-you-in-the-back” co-worker.  Then there was the ungodly Record Company that exploited the Music artist and forgot to tell them that they were filing bankruptcy and the artist was left to fend for himself. It didn’t seem to bother anybody but me.  I asked GOD, “WHY?” to all these things. Now as I look back over that period in my life I’m reminded of what Asaph said in Ps. 73:17-20 (paraphrased in my own words); “How foolish and ignorant was I until I went into the house of the LORD for it was then and there that I was reminded of the fate of those who are ungodly and sew evil deeds. They don’t get away with ANYTHING.  The day of reckoning will surely come and the wicked SHALL be cut off.” (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+73%3A17-20&version=TLB)

Let me tell you a story.  Once upon a time in the world of Corporate America there was a woman who was very full of herself.  She was cold and callous and she made life miserable for the many people who worked for her.  If ever there was a female version of all the evil that was associated with the notorious Natzi general named Adolph Hitler I declare it was her.  It just did not seem right or fair for GOD to allow that woman to rise to the very important position that she held in the company and to allow her to put her foot on people’s necks.  She was often described as mean or a tyrant. If she did not like you or you weren’t working out according to her plans she would trump up charges or get her “hench-men” to do her dirty work and execute (fire) you.  For years and years this wicked woman laughed and scoffed in the face of GOD and man. I really think she thought she was invincible. But guess what?  IN THE END…the woman got dragged out of her beloved important position and out of the company doors kicking and screaming.   She was brought low.  She did not get away with ANYTHING.  GOD was NOT mocked!

Soooo….come on and share your thoughts with us. Do you have a story?
